Shiroli Manufacturers Association [SMAK] is one of the leading organisations in Western Maharashtra with more than 1000 Entrepreneurs network located in Shiroli Industrial Estate, Kolhapur.

SMAK is established to address the various industry-related problems of the entrepreneurs.

We continuously work in the field of economic and social development, environmental protection, entrepreneurship training, trained manpower supply to the entrepreneurs, entrepreneurial creation, arboriculture, etc.

SMAK BHAVAN is specially developed for training and for conducting seminars which was inaugurated by Former Chief Minister of Maharashtra Hon. Devendraji Fadanvis.

The area is covered with more than 1000 trees through drip irrigation.

Smak along with Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India's Employees State Insurance Corporation runs Service Dispensary for Workers and their Families.

ITI : SMAK runs government-accredited Industrial Training Institute (ITI) and Basic Training Institute (BTCs) offering fitter, electrician, machinist, turner, draftsman, mechanical, and welder as well as CNC training courses which is associated with Cummins, Kirloskar, Mitsubishi, Federal Bank and others. Our ITI is the number one in rating taken from Government of India.

SAND RECLAMATION PLANT :
Department of Industry, Policy, and Promotion, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, New Delhi has approved a Sand Reclamation Plant for SMAK Shiroli MIDC , Kolhapur which is running successfully and is the first of its kind in India. The plant helps to protect the environment by reducing pollution with proper recycling of foundry waste sand and also leads to less utilisation of available natural resources, saves the country's mineral wealth.

History

The Industrialists in MIDC Shiroli area gathered and established their association in the year 1975. This Association was established under the chairmanship of Late Shri. Jawanmal Gandhi and was registered as a trust.

Presently Shioli Manufacturer’s Association, Kolhapur has around 400 members.

There are differents establishments in this MIDC Shiroli area totaling approximately 500. These establishments comprise of Foundries – 70 Nos, Machineshops – 285 Nos, Fabrication & Forging – 101 Nos, and others about 50 nos.

The main objectives of the Association are –

  • • To help members to resolve their problems and difficulties faced with various Government Departments.
  • • To provide training to their members to enlighten them about the various Government Policies and future industrial trends.
  • • To impart technical training to the prospective employees & to provide training to existing employees to upgrade their skills.
